US Open T20 winner to pocket US$100,000

MARGATE/FL – USA: The winner of the 2022 US Open T20 tournament will walk away with a whopping US$100,000 in prize money.This revelation was made by Mahammad Qureshi the chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA), the parent body for the popular US Open T20 tournament. The tournament which will be the 14th edition will begin on December 5 and go right down to December 13.
Qureshi revealed that in total there will be up to $150,000 in cash prizes. The winner will be taking away the lion’s share of the money with the second placed team getting US$15,000 that goes to their registration for the 15th edition.
According to Qureshi: “This is going to be a bumper year for us at the US Open T20. We are going to give the winner US$100,000 which makes it the biggest prize in the sport in America. We are happy to announce that there will also be other cash prizes with the total racking up in the range of US$150,000. We are happy to give this reward to our teams as they have been coming here year after year and have played a major role in this tournament being the most successful in North America.”

Qureshi also added that the tournament is over-subscribed and teams have until this Friday at the close of business to pay off their registration or others will come in. “The tournament is extremely popular and at the moment we are over-subscribed. Some teams have already paid out their full registration for the tournament, and others have made partial payment. Those that miss the Friday deadline will not be allowed in this time and their payment would go to the 2023 event.”
Qureshi said over the next few weeks there will be other major announcements concerning the tournament.
