Guyana’s opening batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj was in fine form on Friday, cracking an unbeaten 66 for South East against New York in the opening match of the Maq T10/ USA Nationals at the Maq Cricket Stadium in Delray Beach, USA.
Hemraj who scored 190 runs playing for Somerset Cavaliers at the last US Open T20 tournament, enjoyed the track at the Maq Stadium and ran the New York fidlers ragged. New York batted first and was strangled to 74/8 off 10 overs and Hemraj then went to work to fire South East to a 10-wicket victory as they reached 79 without loss in just 5.4 overs. Hemraj blasted eight sixes and three fours, while facing just 25 balls in his epic knock. His opening partner Patel was a mere spectator as he scored 11 not out off 10 balls.
Earlier, it was Aditya Padalla who put the skids under New York as they were restricted to 74/8 off their 10 overs. Shamsul Huda with 21 showed some fight but the others struggled. Padalla finished with 3/10.
