Player Registration open for Draft 2021
The players draft for the 2021 US Open T20 tournament will take place on November 15 in Boca Raton, Florida USA.
The 2021 tournament will involve 10 teams who will be split into two groups leading to the semis and finals. The winner of the tournament will carry away US$50,000, while overall there will be US$100,000 in prizes.
With hundreds of players looking to come in and take part in the premier T20 tournament in North America, registration for the draft has already began. Those players interested in getting in can visit www.cricketusopen.com to register.
Last year a total of 911 players were registered for the draft and this year this number is expected to increase. Team owners will be looking to snap up players from around the world as was the case last year.
Speaking to News925 chairman and CEO of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi said: “We are happy with the fact that we are still staging this tournament in the pandemic. Last year we did it and it came off successfully. This time around we are doing it again and we are putting all the County’s Covid guidelines in place for a safe tournament.
“I want to urge all players to come onboard and register for the tournament in order to have a chance at getting it. Over the years we have brought in a lot of foreign talent and this has helped our players here in the USA. They have been able to play alongside some of the best in the business like Chris Gayle and this has no doubt assisted in their development.”
Last year’s winner was Atlanta Param Veers.
