New York loses again

By VINODE MAMCHAN

New York Region ended a poor day at the US Nationals/Maq T10 championships when they went under to the Atlantic Region by just six runs.

Chasing just 71 for victory in their 10 overs at the Maq Cricket Stadium, New York slipped from a position of strength at 44/1 to 64 all out. This meant that they lost nine wickets in the space of 20 runs much to the dismay of the spectators at the venue. Only Honi Gori with 21 fought as former IPL player Rajesh Sharma with three wickets for four runs proved to be too much for New York.

Earlier, Atlantic made what they might have thought was a sub-standard score in getting just 74 runs. Rizwan Mohammad tore through their batting line up with figures of 3/3 as only Sameer Khan with 20 batted well.

SCORES
