Mayor Rogers joins Cricket Council USA advisory board
MARGATE/FL – USA: The Mayor of Lauderdale Lakes Hazelle Rogers has been appointed to Cricket Council USA Advisory Board. This revelation was made by chairman of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi on Wednesday in Margate.
Qureshi welcomed Rogers saying that she was appointed because of her unstinting service to cricket over the years. “Over two decades Mayor Rogers has been involved in our cricket here in Fort Lauderdale. She played a key role in getting the wonderful Central Broward Regional Park and she knows her stuff. We think having us on our advisory board will make the association richer in terms of ideas and execution. We have noticed her work over the years and she has been a great servant of the people.”
Qureshi who has been at the helm of CCUSA since its inception 22 years added that with cricket on the way up in terms of participation, Mayor Rogers can assist by being on the advisory board. “She has a wealth of knowledge and her heart is in the right place when it comes to developing people and we intend to use cricket to serve the people.”
Mayor Rogers was gracious in accepting the position. “I have been around cricket and netball pushing both in these parts for many years and I want to continue doing this. Being part of the advisory board will ensure that I am in a position to make a serious contribution. I want to thank Maq and the board at Cricket Council USA for the faith they have put in me and I will do my endeavor best to ensure that cricket continues to rise under this body.”
