Five Regional teams will be vying for honours this year as Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) the parent body for this tournament decided on a change of composition. Chairman of CCUSA Mahammad Qureshi explained to News925 that it was important in a Covid 19 Pandemic to change up a bit and have the cream of the crop compete. “What we did was to allow trials in the different areas and this led to five strong teams with the best players being chosen to come to the tournament. We are expecting a quality tournament this time around we have put all in place on our end.”
The five regions taking part are New York, South Central, Atlantic, South East and North Central. Qureshi continued: “We have done a lot of work on the ground which is in fantastic condition. The pitch is expected to play nice with plenty of bounce and we expect exciting cricket. In speaking to some of the teams they are very excited about this tournament and this weekend we are going to have a great tournament.
“We have taken all the necessary precautions in terms of the Covid 19 situation and we are ready for action.” The first game at 9am will see New York against South East, while the second match will pit Atlantic again this time against Atlantic. The third match is a contest between South East and South Central, followed by Atlantic against South Central.
