First MCL in Arkansas

ARKANSAS – USA: History will be created when for the first time Major Cricket League (MCL) will be played in Arkansas, Friday. This area was relatively unknown for cricket until Chitranjan Singh Rathod joined forces with Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) and all of a sudden cricket will be the main agenda this weekend in the area.

Chairman of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) Mahammad Qureshi said he was happy to take the MCL into Arkansas. “This is an area where we have not had a lot of cricket. This is the first time that cricket of this standard will be played in Arkansas and we are all excited about it. This is going to be a great tournament and advertisement for the sport in this state.
“We are happy to be a part of this and now Arkansas comes under our CCUSA umbrella. This is good for us as we have to spread the games to all corners of the USA if we want it to grow. It is our hope that the people come out and take in the cricket this weekend.”
Rathod was very happy that the tournament is coming to his town. “We are super excited about the fact that MCL is coming our way. We have been working hard to promote cricket in these parts and what better way to do it than have the MCL here. We welcome all teams and we are confident that we will have a great tournament.”
Four teams will be taking part in this tournament, the hosts Titans (who won the USA T10 Premier League title), World Stars, Warriors CC and United CC. Action starts at 8.30am with Warriors against United CC. This will be followed with another clash between World Stars and Titans at 11.30, before the final match is played at 3.30pm involving Titans and Warriors. On Saturday there will be another three matches and the final will be played on Sunday.
