Afridi bangs 6 sixes in an over

Islamabad batsman Umar Afridi created a Major League record on Friday when he slapped six sixes in an over against the Faisalabad Bears at the Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad, Pakistan.

Playing for the Islamabad Tigers Afridi batting at number three exploded to score 53 off just 16 balls with seven sixes and two fours. History in the league was created in 4th over of the innings when Afridi tore into the bowling of Abid Ali. The score at the beginning of the over was 21/1 and at the end it reached 57/1 after the heroics by the right hander.

His epic knock took his team to 100 for nine off 10 overs. The other batsmen struggled with none getting into double figures. Ali Raza was the pick of the bowlers for Faisalabad Bears in taking 2/17 off his two overs, while Khaleem Sidique grabbed 2/12 and Rao Kyamm 2/11 supported well.

In response, Faisalabad were put under the gun by Sikandar who grabbed four wickets for eight runs as they were toppled for just 56 runs, losing the match by 44 runs. Also bowling well was Waleed Khan who took two wickets for 2/4 and Gulshan Abro 2/18.

SCORES: Islamabad Tigers Hyd 100/9 (10) (Umar Afridi 53, Ali Raza 2/17, Khaleem Sidique 2/12, Rao Kyamm 2/11) vs Faisalabad Bears 56 all out (Sikandar 4/8, Waleed Khan 2/4, Gulshan Abro 2/18) – Tigers won by 44 runs.
